Seated At The Table: Occupied By Many

- by Dr. Donnett Jones (Author)

“Seated At The Table, Occupied By Many” Journal, was established to educate and bring awareness to Mental Health. Our goals are to talk about the unspeakable, as it relates to mental health. In addition, to the stigma, and all other issues surrounding this condition that so many live with daily.

More often than not, people do not understand the impact mental health has on an individual, friend, colleague, or family member. While people understand the significance of good physical health, they fail to recognize how important good mental health is to a person’s life (Fusar-Poli et al., 2020).

In essence, a healthy mind translates to a healthy body. As with physical fitness, mental fitness also plays a critical role in fostering a sustainable mental health status. When people are mentally stable, they enjoy life and their environment, including all the people inside.

Moreover, a healthy mind provides opportunities to learn, exercise creativity, and take risks. At the same time, being mentally healthy means possessing the ability to cope with life challenges, both personally and professionally (Moltu et al., 2017).

The Guiding Compass: Finding Your Way Through The Tunnel of Mental Health

- by Dr. Donnett Jones (Author)

Mental health refers to a person’s emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act, and influences our ability to cope with the normal stresses of life, maintain relationships, and make decisions. Just as physical health is important for overall well-being, mental health is equally crucial. It is vital to pay attention to our mental health as it directly affects our daily life. Mental health encompasses a wide range of conditions, from common mental illnesses like anxiety and depression to more severe disorders such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. It is estimated that one in four people worldwide will experience a mental health issue at some point in their lives, making it a significant global concern.

In today’s fast-paced life, we all strive for good physical health, and in the process, we tend to ignore our mental health. While we indulge in exercise or a healthy diet to boost our fitness levels, we forget to take care of our minds. Talking about mental health is critical to breaking stereotypes and myths about mental illness. It’s time to accept that mental health is equally important as physical health.

Unleashing Inner Strength: Your Disability Should Not Define You

- by Dr. Donnett Jones (Author)

In a world that often values physical prowess and conformity, it’s easy for those with disabilities to feel like outsiders. Society’s standards can make them feel like their differences define them, overshadowing the incredible strengths that lie within each of them. But I’m here to tell you that your disabilities do not define you; it’s the strength within us that truly matters. Throughout this journey, I’ve come to realize that disability is not a limitation, but a unique perspective. It’s a lens through which we see the world, and it gives us the power to create change, challenge stereotypes, and inspire others. This book is an exploration of experiences, the hurdles to overcome, and the lessons learned along the way. It’s a testament to the strength that resides within all of us, waiting to be discovered and unleashed

The Talk Continues: Seated At The Table Occupied By Many ( Volume II)

- by Dr. Donnett Jones (Author)

Mental health as a general topic has been taboo for years. People were labeled, and there was intense, corrosive stigma – people were forced to retreat and hide inside themselves, in their thoughts. Although we have not yet stepped onto the golden cobblestone road of perfection, we have made significant progress.

Mental illness does not feel like a condemnation. Mental health and topics around therapy have been adopted into the lexicon and daily conversation. In addition, if you suffer from struggles, you have been able to feel a little less weighed down, like you can breathe a bit.

So, since the world is talking now, what does that mean?

It means that if you are someone who has had personal, mental, or emotional battles, you can be yourself.

Freely, without hiding, unapologetically.
